A Career in Recruitment....
Exciting work if you can get it!
The concept of a career in recruitment consulting may well not have crossed your mind. At Ambition, we can offer one of the most comprehensive, demanding and rewarding recruitment careers available.
We owe our position as one of the newest, most innovative international recruitment consulting businesses to a 'front-office' and support team of outstanding skill and quality
. ...and this is where you come in...
Getting to the starting line... Is enough of a challenge for some.
Recruiting consultants for Ambition is probably the most difficult assignment we face each year. Aside from great technology, our outstanding team of consultants is what sets us apart.
Therefore we insist on recruiting people:
- With real talent who have a high degree of motivation;
- Who are eager and impatient to learn;
- Inherently energetic and with an over-supply of drive; and
- Seeking an environment in which to work hard & play hard with a fast-paced and demanding company going places!
And that's just to get to the starting line!
The challenge of recruitment is obvious - we are in an archetypal service and marketing business - but our 'product' asks questions and has a mind of its own!
It is our ability to assist and influence the shaping of an individual's career that provides genuine job satisfaction.
What does an Ambition consultant do day to day?
A lot more than meets the eye.
Our consultants are intermediaries (or brokers) between companies seeking to recruit professional staff (our clients) and professional staff seeking a career move or contract assignment (our candidates). That's far from all there is to it though. This process has endless variations and complications that depend on variables such as the competencies/skills and experience required, the client's working environment, career prospects offered and, most importantly, the personality match.
It is the Ambition consultant's role to manage this exercise for both the employer and the job seeker and to satisfy both parties. An integral part of this process is to obtain information by talking to and meeting with people in several different scenarios.
- You talk to and meet prospective and existing clients to find out about their business, their culture, and their recruitment needs (both now and in the future).
- You need to develop strong relationships with these clients so they think of Ambition first, rather than our numerous competitors when they next recruit. In quite a number of instances clients are not aware of (or are sometimes sceptical about) the benefits that Ambition can bring to a recruitment exercise. In these cases, you will also have to 'sell' to them those benefits.
- You'll talk to and meet job seekers (we call them 'candidates') to assess their competencies and experiences, their career aspirations as well as their 'fit' for different positions.
You become a matchmaker.
The more market knowledge you have, the more often you'll bring your clients and candidates together in a successful match. And while we benefit from a good reputation in the marketplace and provide considerable internal support, your success will largely depend on you 'making it happen' for yourself through what we call YOUR 3 Ps;
- Proactive approach
- Persistence
- Professionalism
If you've got YOUR 3 Ps, you are already in possession of the basics to enjoy and be successful in our team.
Exciting work if you can get it!
